Our show and tell has picked up with the return of some of our snowbirds and as many of us finish projects in anticipation of our fall quilt show. I'm sorry my photography skills aren't better to showcase some of the beautiful work shared in April.
Gladys shows off a really stunning piece which she claims is one of her first full quilts .. it is really done with perfection. She quilted it herself with images of dragonflies and other notions from the appliqued front. Wonderful work.
Barb is hiding for some reason behind this nice throw she won at a bazaar this month. It was made by our member Cecil.
The Cranberry ladies always delight us with their works! Vivian made this red and black piece for a wedding gift.
This is one of Patty's first quilts and she must be proud! She quilted it herself flawlessly. It is warm and cuddly as she used a rust colored velour for backing. Really stunning.
Phyl returned north to show off some sweet accessories she has been making
This hexi flower garden is a guild project we all had a hand in making. Audrey taught us the art of English paper piecing a couple of winters ago and this is the fruits - or flowers- of our labour
Another guild project has been completed and looks really stunning up close. Now ... just to find a home for these beauties.
Working on my stash, I whipped up a table runner one Saturday
And more stash from our guild cupboard .... I think we are getting close to some empty boxes now. This baby quilt will likely find its way into a Christmas hamper this year.
Audrey leading us in our comfort block instruction.
Gladys showing off more ...
Evelyn with a sweet flannel baby ... maybe our cupboard isn't bare after all!
And Gladys with one more beauty.
We had a fun spring retreat this month as well. Stay tuned for pictures in a future post!
Our next meeting is Tuesday. Hope to see you there .... come for an all day sewfest, for a quick visit at the United Church or the evening meeting.
Happy May,
Sheri
