Brenda V was presented with over 30 wonderful placemats for the Meals on Wheels program

The Chrismtas party coffee money will be donated to the Elks Christmas Cheer program.
The craft for the vening as Yo-Yo Angels. Gail E and Sandra S led the group in making the angel ornament or pin in an informative and entertaining manner.
Below is part four of our mystery wall hanging.

The evening ended with our traditional Fat Quarter exchange. The theme of the fabric this year was the colour yellow. The story was written by Marg F.

T’was Ten Nights Before Christmas 2009

T’was ten nights before Christmas when right through the Guild
All members were left scurrying about.
Unfinished quilts left to be completed with care,
In hopes help from the elves would be right there.

The families were nestled all snug in their beds
While the quilters were left with visions of quilts in their heads.
Right to work, quilting through the night
The right hands of Santa make his load light.

All through the night there has been a right old chatter
As we don’t have the right thread, or does it matter?
Yes! Right off to Hague I drove through the rain
To purchase thread and fabric for myself and Alene.

The rain was to turn to new fallen snow
And the wind from the right , it wanted to blow
When right before my eyes should appear
The smoke stack of Flin Flon, I hold so dear.

What a drive. It wasn’t very quick.
Right at that moment, I had to think.
Next time the trip will not be mine.
Left to another, who will be next in line?

Dial Sandra, no Lorna, maybe Evelyn or Annette
Marg left, Kathy’s gone, Shelly and Lynn, alright
Right to Plumas they set off.
Match this, buy that, and don’t forget the floss.

A year has passed right by,
When met with the obstacle – from Faktor’s we cannot buy
So left with the internet, we will try
To buy the right fabric for the quilts we spy.

Then left to borrow a meter of blue
To match the green and purple to name a few.
I will return it right after I shop around
Saskatoon and maybe Edmonton I will be bound.

Right ready to quilt, from Disappearing 9-patch
Right on to Log Cabin and Applique
I will be prepared, right? Me with my sore back
And a little tired, but Santa will open his pack.
His left eye will twinkle, the right dimple how merry
The quilt with the roses, the runner with a cherry,
The cute little vest will be left for you know who
And the wreath with the bow, it will not be left in the snow.

With little fabric left in my sewing room
A Christmas wish. A gift of fabric I assume
Will be left. I will be right ready
For another quilt I presume.

Left with only the baking to do
Right off to the kitchen I do go
With a wink of my right eye, and a right twist of my head
I know I have nothing left to dread

Without a word left to speak, I went right to work
So Santa could fill those stocking, then turn right with a jerk
And laying a finger to the left of his nose
He says: The quality of the work definitely rose.

He thought with a sigh, Marg has left us
But we will try, to check with each other.
Please pick me up a mat and a light
Happy Christmas to All, and to all a Goodnight!

I miss you All
Marg Faktor
