December Christmas Party

This years Christmas party was another big success!  Fabric draws, Silent Auction, games and lots of laughs while enjoying cookies, cider, coffee.   This is a great way to end the year and celebrate friendships made over our shared passion for quilting!

We even managed to finish a quilts top during the day and have a finished quilt returned with quilting and binding done!

We donated placemats to Meals on Wheels as well as Norman Community Services.  Great job ladies!

And of coarse we couldn't have a get together without Show and Tell!

And it wouldn't be a party without a few games.  We tried a new one this year and tested our members skills at drawing a Christmas scene without looking!   I have to admit I really enjoyed seeing all the ladies with paper plates on their heads. You're all great sports!

But there can only be one winner when all the points were added up! Congrats Lori!

We also ended the evening with our traditional Left/Right Story game where we exchange fat quarters that we passes around the circle as we listen to the story. Sheri entertained us with her own version this year and it was wonderful!

Merry Christmas to all!

November 2016 Meeting Highlights

Our November guild day was full of activity.  Bags of fabric were donated and sorted to be shared with other groups in town.   We had a members quilt on the frame being basted as many hands make light work!  There were a few more baby quilts to finish up so we could donate them all to the local Christmas hampers.   We also had to make sure all 34 comfort quilts were labeled and ready to be donated at the evening meeting.  It was a busy day!  Two quilts came back that had been quilted and bound by members.  They were included in the 34 quilts that were donated.

For the evening meeting we had 35 members present.   We also had 35 members participate in our guild fall retreat, which is the largest retreat attendance we have had to date!   It was great having Shari and Marge from Road 17 N join us and set up a small shop.

A new comfort block was demonstrated by Rae and it is the Sister Choice block. The guild donated the back ground fabric and members are asked to use red in the star points and any two fabrics for the Nine Patch.

The program for the evening was demonstrated by Eileen and it was the Quilted Hexagon Potholder/Hotmat Pattern.  Click HERE to view the pattern online.
