October 2022

Hello everyone! With Sheri’s help I think I’m ready to take over the blog, so here we go!

The October meeting was when Myrna and I turned over the presidency to Lynn and Phyl. These ladies have some great ideas to continue with our mission of serving our communities.

Lynn’s quilt-along group is working on a star blanket quilt top. The star is constructed without using y-seams. By spring we should be able to see how they turned out. Sandra has already finished hers. You’ll see it in the show and tell for November.

Doing a blog involves a learning curve for me so please be patient with me if I make mistakes!

Sheri and Darby are ready for Halloween with this ghostly table runner, or wall hanging, whichever they choose!

Here we see another of Sheri’s creations, a beautiful crib size quilt for some lucky young one.

Sandra’s tangerine challenge was “Dancing in the Pumpkin Patch”. She had no pattern, just her creative imagination.

This bat quilt was completed by Sandra for her daughter, Heather.

Rae’s “Beach Bums” was voted number one in favourites by the membership. She adapted a much larger pattern to the 24 x 24 size required for the challenge.

P
Patty used a photo she took in Newfoundland as inspiration for her challenge piece. The orange house is so typical of Newfoundland house colours. Her piece was voted number two.

Patty is taking part in the star blanket quilt-along and practised the technique by making this pillow top. We are all looking forward to seeing her full size quilt.

I hope you enjoyed our October show and tell!

Gladys
