August Meeting Highlights

We were fortunate enough to get together in person again this month for our meeting. Zoom is still available for those that can't make it. We are taking the meetings month by month based on provincial guidelines.

Churn Dash Block

Rae was gracious enough to lead us in another block demo (2 months in a row!) 

Our August/September comfort block is the Churn Dash block. We are using a pattern by Lori Holt. 

Two colors please in shades of fall with a light background. 

These lovely blocks were made by Sandra S. Great job Sandra! 

Here is a shot of the directions. We are making the 6 inch block.

Trim the half square triangles to 2.5" 

The pattern picture uses 3 colors, please only use two for our purposes. 

The blocks below are Sandra Dixon's. She couldn't stop making them once she started! 

And this is Rae's block. Just so sweet! If a few us manage to get some blocks together for September's meeting, I think we will have the makings of a beautiful fall quilt!

Sew Along

Here is our new directions for the Sew Along a few of us are participating in. It was fun to see the variety of our first blocks. If you still want in on the fun, contact myself of Lynn. The first month had us make two 10.5 inch blocks and we swapped one. I'm tickled pink with my new block and can't wait to get started on this new piece.

July Meeting Highlights (In person!)

How happy we all were to get together after a few months of zoom meetings. Our guild doesn't usually see many members to the summer meetings so it was lovely to see so many members show up last week. 

We were sure to follow MB Health guidelines by social distancing and wearing masks. Our coffee pot and snack bar were put away but not our quilty spirits! 

We are going to take things month by month but so far, the plan is to have another in-person gathering for August. 

So much show & tell to share!
