Old Business

A donation to the UCW of a slow cooker, ice cream scoop and cookie sheets was made.  A suggestion was made that the guild donate funds in the future toward the purchase of a meat slicer.

The April 12th UFO had 11 members and 2 guests attend.

May 17th will be the next UFO date.

May 24th will be the Free Motion Workshop.  The project will be blankets for the SPCA.

We have been invited to shop at the Fabriculous booth at Baker’s Narrows Lodge the afternoon of May 3rd.



New Business
Quilt Show

The water bottle covers and invitations were well received by the Crocus Quilter’s Guild.

Advertising for the quilt show is in place and all possible outlets are being used.

102 books of tickets have been sold so far for Cattails in the Meadow.

Nadine M. has donated Bali Song as a door prize for the show.

Nominations and elections were held for the 2014 – 2016 executive.

Quilt Show Reminders


Our Quilt Show is only days away so here is a list of reminders for you!

  • Set up starts at 9am on Thursday, helpers needed to cover tables in paper. 
  • Receiving quilts at the R.H. Channing between 10 and 2pm on Thursday
  • Helpers are needed to organized, attach hangers and hang quilt on Thursday between 11:00 and 4pm.
  • All members are asked to bring 3 dozen cookies on Thursday or Friday morning.
  • If you volunteering in the kitchen remember to bring a few tea towels.
  • There are still many unfilled volunteers spots for the show, if you have not signed up for a job please do so on Thursday at the hall.
  • Bring your raffle tickets and money into Sheri on Thursday and Friday.
  • Spread the work to all your friends and family about the show.  I have posted the poster on Facebook so you can share that with your Facebook friends too!

An invitation was received from the NHR to a volunteer luncheon on April 15th from 11am to 2pm at St. Anne’s Hall.

Old Business


17 ladies and 2 guests attended the March 7th and 8th retreat. The guild is looking for ideas on what the by the UCW for the use of the kitchen.

The March UFO is on March 22nd from 9 to 5.

The guild has been invited to shop at the Fabriculous booth on May 3rd at Baker’s Narrows Lodge during the Quilting with Friends retreat.

Ecole McIsaac School junior high students will be participating in a Suicide Awareness day and will be displaying the banners assembled by the guild.

10 kid’s bags have been given to Child and Family Services

New Business

A road trip to Fabriculous in Swan River resulted in an idea of holding a retreat in Swan River together with the Crocus Quilter’s Guild from Dauphin.  A date of the September 19th weekend has been chosen.  A tentative cost will be $125.  This includes all meals except Saturday breakfast. It will be a work on your own project weekend.  Several members are interested. Accommodations will be up to the quilters attending. More details will follow.

Several dates have been confirmed including all 2014 meeting dates on the third Tuesday of each month.  Other confirmed dates are:
April 12th     UFO day                                                June 7th   UFO/Beginners with Mentors
May 17th     UFO/ Free Motion Quilting            June 14th         UFO/Beginners with Mentors
May 24th     UFO/Free Motion Quilting            July 12th           UFO day
                                                                        August 16th          UFO day

Audrey’s president block will be demonstrated in May.

32 water bottle covers were sent to Dauphin.  Eileen M. and Robin M. will present them at the April meeting.

Posters and cards advertising the quilt show are available. 

Remember your Paint Chip Challenge for the quilt show and you need an entry form to go with it.

Members need to bake 3 dozen cookies for the Quilt Show.  They need to be at the hall by Friday morning or early afternoon.

Marg L. And Kathy D. Are collecting items for the toonie parade and have a list of basket themes that are developing.

Setup for the show will be Thursday April 12th.  Some men volunteers are needed to help.

The project for Beginners with Mentors will be the Mahjong Quilt pattern.

Comfort Block


Audrey demonstrated the Faux Braid, Quarter Log Cabin block.  The guild will supply the dark fabrics and some lights.  Lights should be off whites and creams.
