A Review Of March 20 Meeting

Tuesday morning we started right into making 300 Half square triangles for a sawtooth border around a logcabin and bearspaw quilt we are trying to complete. Yvonne and Lorna are tearing the papers from some of the triangles. Many of the afternoon ladies wanted to know the name of the program we used for this project. The name of the program is Triangulations 2.0 Bear Paw Productions at www.bearpawproductions.com is the company that makes this CD. I am sure if you go see Faktors armed with this information, they can help you out.

We had a terrific show and tell that evening, with many of our members proudly displaying their beautiful quilts. Sorry I can't take photos of them all and place them in the blog. Here are a couple of the many, displayed that evening. Great work, keep it up.

Our comfort quilt square for the next two months will be a Square in a Square. Patterns can be picked up at Faktors. We are requesting that there be some black in the squares and that you use bright fabric and prints suitable for teens.

Faktors also has a new Thimbleberry block of the month starting in May. If you are interested please check the store for details.

Happy Quilting!

The next Guild meeting will be held on Tuesday March 20th at the Northminster United Church. The day begins at 9 AM and the fun continues until 9 PM. The regular business meeting starts at 7 PM.

We will be continuing to work on the log cabin block of the month. We are still accepting any unwanted blocks from this kit from our members.

The evening program will include an embellishments demonstration from Evelyn. The next comfort quilt blocks will be square in a square. Don't forget to bring in last months Jar blocks. We are still continuing to accept boomer hats.

Pictured below is a photo of the double wedding ring block Lorie and Kathy submitted to the Quilter Magazine using the "Quest for the Cure" fabric collection.

And guess what happened? The magazine recieved 3600 entries and Kathy and Lorie were in the top 24. Here is a scan of the page from "The Quilter Magazine". Congratulations ladies!
I also heard they have something very interesting to show us on Tuesday evening.

See you on Tuesday evening, and Happy Quilting.
