September

Fall brings out our love for quilting! I was a bit surprised by the amount of show and tell we had this month so soon before our show. I thought everyone wanted to keep their quilts secret!

Sherron started this Thimbleberries calendar quilt 800 years ago along with the rest of us. She should be proud of it. These lovely blocks sometimes find themselves hiding in closets for the darnedest amount of time!

Audrey's hubby is a fireman. She made this lovely art piece with him in mind.

Yvonne has been busy making bags. The most amazing bags actually!

Marg models this lovely low volume batik quilt

Phyl is making wonderful use of her embroidery machine. This stunning quilt is a Kimberbell quilt. My picture doesn't do it justice.

Gladys never disappoints. This fall runner is stunning.

And she is quilting feathers like no body's business!

Yvonne shows off her sweet Pedal to the Metal

Cindy is hiding off camera ... there is nothing shy about this stunning fall batik quilt.

Marg worked a many hours on this many pieced retreat bag

Phyl again with another sweet quilt

Yvonne with a sweet make!

Stunning Storm at Sea

Marg is still using up her store scraps (we all our!)

 Eileen is smiling!!

Myrna is also a wonderful bag lady!

Cindy's mom in from Melfort making us swoon with her quilts!

Myrna with her sweet owl pot holders

Audrey with a sweet Highway Ten Design - I love the modern fabrics! Go Audrey!

And one last shot of our program .. we learned how to put a proper sleeve or hanger on a quilt. Rae is our lovely model for Marg.

I have a few pictures to sort through from our show .... take a look back here in a few days to see what you missed! I'll have another blog post up next week!

August Meeting Highlights

August brought out a few hard working quilters and some lovely show and tell. I wonder if some members are holding out for our show ....

Myrna shows off her sweet penguin quilt and a Canada Day bench pillow.

Rae has reasons to smile!

More penguins at the hall! This Christmas hanging is lovely in so many ways. I'm sorry that the pictures don't do it justice.

Pumpkinville was a labour of love ... sweeter finished up than sitting in a foot stool!

And more Foxes ....

Gladys always has sweet makes.

Cynthia modelling a feminine baby quilt

 Marg with a rainbow wow!

Eileen is smiling on the inside as she shows off her sweet I-Spy

This red & white Canada sampler is stunning

I'm not sure about this shot ... Eileen may be singing our anthem!

Our labour of love .... this is lovely fall piece that we worked on together as a guild. It will be one of our many raffles at our show next month. Wouldn't you love to take this home! You better come to our show then!!

Just a quick Saturday hello and to give you a full shot of our draw quilt for 2018. We are busy selling tickets around the community. Please stop by at one of the local sales and certainly visit our fall quilt show next month. We will be set up for the two day show with tickets. For only $2 you can win this beauty!

If you are a shop or fundraising spirited individual, we would love to send you a few books to sell. This is one of our main fundraisers. Contact myself or any other guild member if you would like to help our fundraising.

June/July

Here is a mixed issue of our summer show and tell. Sorry to be so tardy on the posts. I was away last month and the summer is quickly getting away from me!

Life is short and summer is shorter!

We are two short months away from our fall quilt show. This is the first year we are holding the show in the fall. I hope many of you can make it up to Flin Flon to join us.

We were tickled to hear from a few recipients of our Canada Day placemats we made for Meals on Wheels. This beautiful lady is Mrs. Elizabeth Sochan. She is the mother of our members Bev and Evelyn O. Thanks for sharing this lovely picture with us!

June

Helen is a quilting machine! She doesn't sleep!

June has been busy. I love the bold colors she usually works with!

July

Marg made this stunner and quilted it on her small machine. Quite a feat!

Phyllis shows off a cathedral windows. She is donating this lovely throw to the Lee boys in town .. these two brothers are world class wrestlers. They are making quite the name for themselves across the globe and are extremely talented. Even more so considering that the town does not have a wrestling coach. I hope this quilt can fund one of their globe trotting trips.

She also came up with this black and blue dissappearing nine patch.

We can finally show off this lovely quilt made by Sandra. It was a wedding gift for her daughter Heather who got hitched last Saturday. Heather loves old fashioned blocks with modern twists and told her mom that happy homes have yellow in the quilts. This dresden plate is a classic. I know it will be cherished.

I couldn't resist showing off the wonderful quilting that Kathy does. Kathy moved to Ontario but we can't let her go!

There is a beautiful person with the brightest, broadest smile behind this quilt.

Gladys shows off a lovely fall table runner. Yes, friends, fall is around the corner!

Another hidden model. This quilt will be raffled at our show in September. Another reason for you to come!

Evelyn shows off her animal instincts with this cool quilt

Audrey? Is that you?

Lorna has a new baby in the family

And Lorna H models a guild comfort quilt. We just can't get through all of our stash!

I'm happy to show off my low volume scrap quilt. I only threw about four cuss words while making this one.

Happy summer!
May your geraniums bloom and your thread never break. To sunny days and full bobbins. See you next month.
